With the opening date of HSC Women’s Hospital at 665 William Avenue, it is important to celebrate and recognize the legacy of the previous building and the history of women’s and maternal health at HSC. The building at 735 Notre Dame Avenue, formerly known as the Maternity Pavilion and Women’s Pavilion, officially opened on 6 May 1950. Over its 69 year history, the hospital and its staff have contributed significantly to the field of women’s health.

To showcase the history of women’s and maternal health at HSC this exhibit draws on textual records, newsletters, photographs, and first-hand accounts.
